To capitalise on the interest & enthusiasm of the Tokyo Olympic Games, Sport NZ wanted to create a space that made it fun for Kiwi kids to get active. The NZ Olympic team fan hub, NZHQ, was the perfect space for this and brought Games coverage and partner activity together.

The Tokyo Games Zone was an activity space at The Cloud in Auckland’s Viaduct that blended fun physical participation with a Tokyo neon aesthetic, and delivered a truly unique experience for thousands of kids (of all ages). Working closely with the team at Saatchi & Saatchi’s, Spur designed and implemented the base build, transforming an open space to one with five unique interactive zones. The experiences ranged from motion-capture, 8-bit graphics games, to Games-themed activities and neon photo moments that helped to inspire the next generation of Kiwi Olympians.
