Spark Game Arena (SGA) launched in 2024 with the ultimate aim of establishing Spark as the network for Kiwi gamers.
How would we achieve this ambition? By hosting New Zealand’s first world-class festival of gaming.
Spur was engaged to project lead this incredible event. Working closely with a range of exceptional agency partners and a talented Spark team, we brought to life an unforgettable, one-day event that showcased the best of gaming culture in Aotearoa. It was unlike anything seen before in this corner of the world.
The festival featured multiple live gaming tournaments, including the largest prize pool ever offered in New Zealand. There were sponsor activations, an esports speaker series, and a variety of interactive experiences to immerse attendees in the world of gaming.
The entire festival was gamified, allowing every ticket holder to dive into an exclusive, custom-built gaming experience called Killabyte. This was a unique way for attendees to engage with the event, earn rewards, and level up their festival experience.
